Joint table for 72T calculations

L1: Joint table for 72T calculationsHi,
I think I understand how to calculate 72Tannual payments using the mortality table for the case of single owner. However, I don”t know how to perform joint 72T calculations for the annual payments. I assume, the joint life expectancy table should be used somehow. The problem, I don”t know how to use the joint life expectancy table to get 72T annual payments. Another question is why weuse mortality table for single owners and joint life expectancy table for beneficiaries. Why not to use single and joint lifeexpectancy tables both for single and joint 72T calcs (like for RMD)?
Thank you
Vlad

L2: Joint table for 72T calculationsWe use a mortality table for all calculations – single or joint and we use the same formulas for 72(t)/72(q) distributions as we do for MinimumDistributions.
However, a SEPP plan has the advantage of using the single factors to produce a higher distribution that the distribution produced by joint table. In a SEPP plan, it”s always easy to reduce a distribution – it”s harder to increase the amount.
