available options in year when turning 59 1/2

L1: available options in year when turning 59 1/2
Existing plan started in 2005.
Date age 59.5 = 10/8/2019.
Will I be required to take a distribution in 2019 or will my plan be considered complete
with my 2018 distribution.
I am confused by the wording that my plan must continue until I turn 59.5, but does that mean I need to take a distribution in 2019, prior to turning 59.5 to prevent the plan from busting.
Thanks

You have had the plan 5 years.
You will be over 59 1/2 on 10/8/2019.
Your plan ends 10/8/2019, and you do not have to take ANY distribution in 2019, unless you need the money, or it makes sense for tax reasons.
If so, take -0- or any amount you want to thru 10/8/2019, and then whatever makes sense between 10/9/2019 and 12/31/2019.
If you do take any money in 2019 before 10/8/2019, it should be either the full annual distribution, or 10/12 of the annual amount.
