72t one time change to minimum distribution method

L1: 72t one time change to minimum distribution methodI started 72t payments in 1998 using the amortization method. I want to take advantage of the one time change to the minimum distribution method. Must I use the year end balance of my IRAfor the calculation? Can I start the new distribution on say April 1st of this year or must itstart at the beginning of the year?2003-03-10 19:08, By: Lenny, IP: [127.0.0.1]
L2: 72t one time change to minimum distribution methodHello Lenny:
Revenue Ruling 2002-62 is actually pretty clear by saying that you can switch to the RMD method at any time. Therefore, beginning of year as well as mid-year conversions will be fine.
