72T and medical withdrawal from one IRA?

L1: 72T and medical withdrawal from one IRA?Pardon if this question has been answered previously: If I begin 72T withdrawals from an IRA, and later encounter major medical expenses, can I take additional money out of that same IRA (subject to the 7.5 percent AGI threshold, of course). I know I can divide the IRA, using one for 72T and the other in reserve for medical. But I don’t want to do that unless I have to.2002-04-14 03:06, By: davhar, IP: [127.0.0.1]
L2: RE: 72T and medical withdrawal from one IRA?Once you establish a SEPP plan with an IRA, you should only take the SEPP payment from that plan or run the risk of busting the plan.2002-04-14 05:05, By: Gfw, IP: [127.0.0.1]

On the one hand there is no rule or authority that says you can not do this; on the other hand, all of the rules surrounding SEPPs appear to be in conflict with doing so. Lastly, no one has ever asked this question of the IRS; thus there is a void of knowledge. Sorry, but there is simply no answer. I concur with Gfw, I would not do this out of fear of the IRS later ruling that you have violated the SEPP rules & thus would owe penalties and interst.
