PLR

L1: PLRHow feasible is it to get a PLR for a widow who needs more income than the 72t calculations allow? How long does it normally take to get a PLR?2004-02-03 22:30, By: Gary, IP: [205.188.209.102]
L2: PLRAs far as I know, there have been no PLRs issued since 2002-62 was released even though there are many pending. This makes it kind of hard to determine exactly how long it would take to get ANY answer. The Badger may have a better idea, he has a few of the ones pending.
Another consideration… While there have been lots of PLRs issued (at least prior to RR 2002-62)on 72(t), I have never seen one issued allowing an amout that exceeded the amount calculated under one of the standard distribution formulas.

L2: PLRBadger,
What is your experience with PLR’s?

L2: PLRHello Gary:

I currently have 2 PLRs pending & I keep thinking I will get them resolved in the next 30 days; then 30 days p****& they are still not resolved. I suspect they will be completed by April 1st.

That being said, I see nothing noteworthy about a widow that would be direct cause for any kind of exception. Further, PLRs (though I do like to do them) are not any kind of automatic p****to greater riches or higher distribution amounts.

The best move is to wait another 60 days; as soon as I have PLR results, good or bad, we will post them here.
