L1: Rolling Over 72T IRA to Qualified PlanI am three years into a 72t withdrawal program. Can I rollover my 72t IRA to a pension plan at my new job now without incurring an early withdrawal penalty?2005-11-08 11:15, By: Richard, IP: [72.1.148.246]
L2: Rolling Over 72T IRA to Qualified PlanLegally you probably can but practically you probably can’t.
Once distributions start you have to keep going until your age 59 1/2 and 5 years of distributions, regardless of where they are custodied. You say “pensions plan” but I suspect you mean 401(k) plan. If pension plan is correct then no distributions can come out till retirement, thus your 72(t) is a bust. If K-plan then the plan document would have to allow in-service distributions.
You would probably be better off keeping your IRA as is and continue the SEPP schedule. If you want to change custodians or investments of the IRA, then work this angle but forget the idea.
