401K

L1: 401KMy question is about 401K plans.I work for a medium size company ( about 700 employees world wide) and I seem to get differientanwsers on the questions I ask about termination of service after 55 years of age. Things likekeepingmoney in the plan after leaving, partial withdrawls, etc… Is there a plan doucument that I can ask for that I could read for myself that would give me the details that I want and who would have it? The company or the investment firm that our 401K is with?
You have a great sight.
Thanks

L2: 401KCheck with the Plan Administrator who is probably the Emloyer – someone in the HR Dept could probably provide a copy. With that said, you may want to start by reviewimg the “Sumary Plan Description” – it’s a lot more user friendly and easier to understand.2006-02-22 19:19, By: Gfw, IP: [172.16.1.79]

L2: 401KIf you have online access to your 401(k) account, you may be able to access a copy (online) of the Summary Plan Description to which Gfw referred .You may also want to check to see if you already have a copy, as your employer is required to provide you with one within 90 days after you became eligible to participate in the plan .
