L1: Estimated Tax Payment timeThis is a little off topic but I thought maybe some of the tax experts listening on this forum might know the answer to my question.
It is time to make the 4th quarter estimated tax payment. Usually these are due on the 15th of the appropriate month unless the 15th falls on a weekend, which it does this January. In those cases when the 15th falls on the weekend the due date is pushed out to the next Monday, but this time the due date as stated on the payment voucher is Tuesday, Jan 17th.
What is the reason for the extra day?2006-01-13 09:48, By: John, IP: [71.208.232.156]

L2: Estimated Tax Payment timeHi John:
I assume you are talking about the Federal 1040-ES and not your state taxes. One good thing about the feds and their new and imporved computer system is the ability to include a real calendar with their programs so they can adjust for things like weekends. In this case they are also adjusting for a Federal Holiday which is Monday the 16th; the King holiday.

Ahhh! Since I am not employed I don’t get the benefit and knowledge of this holiday.
Thanks.2006-01-13 10:23, By: John, IP: [71.208.232.156]
