72t Calculator Question

L1: 72t Calculator QuestionWhy does the 72t calculator have a “Total IRA Account Balance” entry? The “Amount Allocated to SEPP Plan” is the relevant entry. It doesn’t appear to affect the calculations. Since all the money in an IRA(s) [setup as the SEPP IRA universe]has to be allocated to the SEPP, I’m not sure of the reason for thisentry. One can splithis/her IRA(s) up into the IRA(s) for the SEPP andIRA(s)outside of the SEPP IRA(s) [e.g., for emergencies].
Am I missing something important regarding this entry?

L2: 72t Calculator QuestionYou haven’t looked at the Chart option on the calculator page! By having both entries it merely allows someone who isn’t allocating the entire IRA account to a SEPP plan the opportunity to project the non-used account forward along with the IRA setup as a SEPP.It also comes into play for someone who is using the Reverse Calculator which again may not use the entire account for the SEPP.2003-05-22 07:08, By: Gfw, IP: [127.0.0.1]
