final 72t distribution requirement

L1: final 72t distribution requirementStill have not heard anything in regards to my 8/19/03 inquiry. Perhaps I was not clear. Have a client who will be 59 1/2 in January ’04. Has taken 6 -72t draws since 1998. So he has exceeded the 5 year rule and will be 59 1/2. Does this mean he can “alter” (in fact he will completely discontinue withdrawals until final retirement at 66) his withdrawals, beginning in 2004, without violating 72t? L2: final 72t distribution requirementWhile there is nothing totally definitive as to the amount of the distribution that must occurr inthe year that age 59.5 is attained, the plan can be stopped at age 59.5.While 2002-62 speaks of annual distributions, you could probably get by by taking 1/12 of the distribution in January. 2003-08-21 10:11, By: Gfw, IP: [127.0.0.1]
