Plan to allow Roth Conversions in 2010

L1: Plan to allow Roth Conversions in 2010 I understand they are about to allow Roth conversions for “one year”, 2010, regardless of income. If I am already taking 72T withdrawals, will there be a provision that will allow those of use doing withdrawals toconvert?2006-05-17 19:46, By: Wayne, IP: [24.9.189.216]
L2: Plan to allow Roth Conversions in 2010Wayne,
Sorry, but a conversion is a rollover and you cannot roll over a 72t distribution. That means that you would have to have another IRA account outside of your SEPP universe from which to do the conversion. The tax lawchange does not change this.
Also, note that the income limit is lifted for all years after 2009, but 2010 is the only year the taxes can be deferred into future years.
