72T Distribution

L1: 72T DistributionI started a 72T Distribution 18-months ago. I used 10% as the interest rate and I selected the “amortazation” method for the payout. I’m 18-months into a required 5-year period. With the markets being down, I’m eating away at my principle. Can I recalculate my 72T distribution based on a lower interest rate (say 6%) and a lower value IRA account. L2: RE: 72T DistributionUnfortunately, the answer is no since that would be a change to the plan that wasn’t contemplated when the plan was initiated. Changing the assumptions would bust’ the plan.

BTW 120% of the Long Term Rate in January 2000 was only 7.77% – where did the 10% rate come from?
