Calculators

L1: CalculatorsI can’t get the calculators to work. I click the links and get a blank page with “Done” at the bottom. Is maintenance going on or something. This is my first time to the website because you were referred to in the Kiplinger’s REtirement Report for December 2012. Also the “Planning Pointers” link isn’t working.2013-01-24 01:10, By: Denise, IP: [64.60.44.73]
L2: CalculatorsI just checked and both items you mention are working.
To check, I used a current version of Chrome on Win 8 and also the current version ofChrome on Android 4.2
If you are running an old browser on an old operating system, consider doing an upgrade.2013-01-24 01:23, By: Gfw, IP: [205.178.67.189]

L3: CalculatorsI get the same, blank screen, when clicking the link to SEPP Calculators. Are these by chance, Java based calculators?

L4: CalculatorsThey are not Java based calculators, but they do use JavaScript which is not the same as Java.
If you have JavaScript turned off, they wll not function.2013-02-04 18:45, By: Gfw, IP: [205.178.67.189]

L5: CalculatorsThanks for the reply, GFW!
Must be a “Mac” thing. I do have java script enabled, but still am getting a blank, white page.
I am running the latest “everything”, on a Macbook Pro, and have tried three browsers, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. All with no luck.

L6: CalculatorsInteresting…
I don’t have a Mac – the only product that I from Apple (being basically a Microsoft/Android programmer) is an iPod Touch that I use to communicate with my kids/grandkids on Facetime.
I just tried Safari onthe iPod and everything works great – including the 72t calculator. The screen even adjusts somewhat nicely to the iPod’s small display.
I also just tried Safarifrom my windows desktop and ran the calculators without any issues.

L7: CalculatorsI have a MacBook Pro 15 inch. I have no problems with the calculators.2013-02-04 19:37, By: Chris, IP: [99.18.97.186]

L8: CalculatorsOk, I started pulling my hair out, and I don’t have much left, but I think I understand what has happened, maybe…
I was looking at the url addresses for the calculators, and it was then that I noticed that after clicking on the link to, SEPP Calculators, I would get the “blank” white page. While on the “blank” page, I went up to the URL address window, entered the full address manually, including the “http” portion, pressed enter, and the page resfreshed, with a new logo in the portion of the URL address window, and, Voila, the calculators are there, and work perfectly!
Maybe it had something to do with old cache remnants, or maybe not, very wierd.
Thanks for pressuring me into finding the solution. Though I didn’t explain it very well.

L9: CalculatorsThanks for the TIP — I haven’t been able to get a calculator either since I disabled my Java about a month ago, but after reading your postI was able tocopy/paste the link rather than just clicking calculator link, I am nowable to access the calculators. Thank you.2013-02-04 21:05, By: meb24, IP: [98.114.98.210]
