SEPP can I take less than calculated amount

L1: SEPP can I take less than calculated amountIf you were to SEPP prior to 59 1/2 can you take less than the recommended rates based on the three calculation methods. For example the lowest amount published for me is 50k but I only want 30k. Can I take less than what my dollar calculation is as long as they are equal amounts each year2017-10-10 23:17, By: raaizin, IP: [67.82.25.28]
L2: SEPP can I take less than calculated amountNot really. You should just set aside 40% of your IRA in a non-SEPP account. Later it could be used for a 2nd SEPP, or for an occasional emergency so as not to bust your main SEPP 72-T plan.2017-10-10 23:47, By: dlzallestaxes, IP: [173.75.252.16]

L4: SEPP can I take less than calculated amountThat only applies to the “emergency fund” aspect.
Why lock in 40% of your IRA to a 5-year plan when you could get the same $ 30,000/year by including only 60% of your IRA in your SEPP 72-T Universe ?
I wouldn’t let any of my clients do it your way.2017-10-11 00:08, By: dlzallestaxes, IP: [173.75.252.16]

L5: SEPP can I take less than calculated amountThanks for your reply. Just looking at what my options are if I go this route. I will surely seek a professional if I do.2017-10-11 23:44, By: raaizin, IP: [67.82.25.28]

L6: SEPP can I take less than calculated amountThere is a “reverse calculator” on this website which should be very useful to you.
If you enter the amount that you want annually, and the interest rate that you are planning to use, the result will be the minimum amount you need to set aside in the SEPP 72-T to accomplish your desired result. Then you could set aside the balance in a non SEPP IRA account.2017-10-12 04:09, By: dlzallestaxes, IP: [173.75.252.16]
