switch to minimum required distribution

L1: switch to minimum required distributionMy situation:At the end of 2007 I will have taken three years of SEP payments using the ammortization method. I will have three more years until I am 59.5 years old. I wish to switch to the minimum required distribution (MRD) method beginning in 2008, thereby drawing less from my accounts. My question:Do I use the MRD calculation that was an alternative choice when I began in 2005; ordo I recalculate thte MRD using new interest rate, account balance and age assumptions at the end of 2007?Thanks, and thanks for the great website.ARC_Fox2007-05-08 11:45, By: ARC_Fox, IP: [75.14.60.156]
L2: switch to minimum required distributionThe interest rates doesn”t really enter the minimum distribution calculation. If you were going to make the switch to the MD method in 2008, you would use the account balance as of 12/31/2007 and your attained age in 2008.
Hope this helps.2007-05-08 11:59, By: Gfw, IP: [24.148.85.129]
